Music Director: Alexander Douglas / Assistant MD: Kevin Stannard

The New World Voices is a new Wolverhampton-based choral project being set up in order to perform the St Matthew Passion with the English Touring Opera company and a professional period instrument ensemble at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on Monday 29th October, 2018.

This project requires us to recruit two groups of singers:

The 'Bach' choir

The ‘Bach’ choir will sing the choruses in German and the chorales in English. Singers will need to be experienced classical choral singers with good sight-singing ability and either experience or willingness to sing in German and enjoy intense rehearsals.

The 'Johann' choir

The ‘Johann’ choir will sing the chorales in English, and the very last chorus in German with the 'Bach' choir. Singers will need to have some experience of singing in a choir (community, school, church etc.) and be open to singing classical music as well as possible. Singers do not need to be able to read music but do need to be willing to learn how to work with a score in hand.
